Hi Everyone

I have bought a tablet running Android, but when I try to pair the reader, I am good that device is not compatible, because rooted devices are not supported. I've run root checker on my device and it tells me that it is NOT rooted.

Why suggestions as to where to from here please?

Hi @chirurgos, sorry to hear you are running into this! If possible, can you let me know the exact model of the Android tablet you are using and the error message you are getting?

It might be worth running through some troubleshooting steps and see if that would help as well.

Thanks for the response. My tablet is running Android 9. It is a BDF-M107. Made in China.

Thanks for letting me know @chirurgos! From checking on my end, it looks like the BDF-M107 is not on our list of compatible devices, which is likely why you are seeing an error when connecting it to your reader.

There's a wide variety of Android devices on the market, and we strive to support them all. In some cases, however, the Android device may meet all the requirements for compatibility but still not communicate properly with the Square hardware or the Square apps.
