I sell beef cuts. I'm creating items with the main beef cut - for example, sirloin steaks. Then, I'm creating variations for each weight, and indicating the number of those steaks in that weight available as the inventory for that variation. 

 

Unfortunately Square is allowing customers to purchase MORE than the inventory available for each variation. For example, there are only 2 sirloin steaks available at 0.8 pounds for $8, but Square is allowing customers to purchase 4. I don't have 4 - I only have 1. Inventory says I only have 1. 

 

How do I fix this? I'm either constantly issuing refunds OR I'm constantly giving away product over the amount sold so as to not disappoint customers. It's a money suck for me right now and it needs to be remedied.

Hi @gaukerfarms thanks for bringing this up. It sounds like you have inventory tracking for the main item, "Sirloin Steak," and not for the item variations.

 

Can you please send me a screenshot of this Sirloin Steak item in question so that I can see exactly what is going on?

Stepping in for @AshleyK here. This is actually a known issue that a small amount of sellers are experiencing with our Online Store. You should not be able to sell any items or amounts that are out of stock. On the item page itself it should also say it’s out of stock. 

 

We're working hard to implement a fix here, however, it would be helpful if you gave us a call to provide more insight on this issue.
