eCards Systems and their ridiculous shipping

Square please talk to eCard systems about their shipping prices. It does not cost $14.95 to ship a pack of 30 cards via USPS. That order would fit in a small flat rate box thru USPS for $8.51. Heck it wouldn't cost $14.95 for 60 gift cards. They would still fit in the small flat rate box.

I'm on the phone with them now and requested to email them a shipping label directly. Their customer service is great and I believe they are going to let me email them a label for this order.

It sure is tough to go back to companies that charge shipping and even extra for shipping after amazon came in and made it that shipping is free and set the standard for all to follow.  I think a lot of companies still try to pad the shipping for a little more profit and to cover the packaging and handling.  I know I often get too the check out process and then get hit with a $18 bill for shipping and hesitate and try looking elsewhere.  I had one part for an ATV that was $1,86 and it was $3 handling and $16 was the cheapest shipping option and it could have just got put in a regular envelope with a stamp.

I just bought 500 from them, first time buying since the original 500 like 10 years ago and it was $25.75 for Fedex ground.  That is the beauty of Square gift cards is the reusability (unless you have loyalty as that is still messed up).  About the only reason I threw away cards was the mag stripe stopped reading or I couldn't get whatever marker the customer scribbled on it off to send it back out again.  a few have been out over a dozen times.

For sure! I don't mind an extra $1 or $2 but when I know something is actually half the cost to ship that's when I have a hard time paying the shipping cost.

We reuse as much as possible. This is my first order in 2 years and I typically only order one or two packs at a time. We still have some in rotation from our very first order with them years and years ago now.

@alexandriak This is a great tip to know for the future when we buy more gift cards that we can speak with customer service and possibly be able to email them a shipping label.

I'll keep you posted! He was supposed to invoice me but I haven't gotten it yet so I will give them another call tomorrow morning.

Well I have an update and none of us are going to like it.

So I never got a call back from the person I spoke with. Even when I called and left a message. The message is apparently nowhere to be found.

So I followed up last week. I was then informed that while I could send them my own label there was a handling fee. I pointed out to them that the handling fee should NOT be roped in with the shipping cost and should be clearly displayed. I explained that had I know the shipping cost displayed was shipping + handling I would have just ordered vs calling them in the first place.
