customer database

As a small sports club we manually enter our 200 memebrs in the club database with their name and our 4 digit club membership number (stored in 'ref id' field in database).

However, it appears (as far as I can work out) that if a member uses their card to pay and square recognises that card then square automatically makes a new entry into the customer database. Obviously this new entry doesn't contain our membership number.

It does mean that at the till people see 2 entries for the same name but can't tell which one to use. (e.g. one called John Brown and once called J Brown)

My question is, is it possible to prevent square automatically entering a customer into the database?

Hey there @WokinghamBC

While I'm not sure whether you can entirely stop these profiles from being made, you can merge them to make sure Square saves all the data in one profile in the future?

I hope this can help, and if it does, please do mark it as the best answer to help others in the future!

Thanks.

I was aware that you could merge them but this takes longer than just deleting the ones we don't want.
