contactless chip reader not seeing the card

ive read all the troubleshooting steps for this issue. None resolved the issue.

 

here's what ive done. 

 

1. made sure my IPAD is fully up to date

2. uninstalled and reinstalled the square app from appstore

3. fully charged my card reader

4. re-setup the card reader

5. it says contactless status "ready", accepts contactless, chip

6. firmware ends in 1889 same as on device

7. when trying to take a blueooth card tap it times out and says re-enable contactless blah blah

 

should i take this back to the shop i bought it from? Please note I am not able to accept any card including my own via the contactless tap mothod but it works by inserting the card

This is something our support team will be able to troubleshoot with you. Give them a call and they'll be able to take a look into your operating environment and give further advice. If we can't get it working over the phone we can replace it for you under warranty (or you can do so at Officeworks).
