Hi, I just upgraded my website to a custom domain name that I had purchased before (I purchased the custom domain though weebly, prior to doing any site design or design publishing to the .square.site domain). I have since upgraded my account to professional and published to my intended custom domain, however when I point a browser to my site I am getting a certificate error (the site is not secure) because the cert has .weebly.com in it? Do I need to take any action to update the cert for the custom domain?
Hi @rdrummond Can you try unpublishing the domain from Website>General Settings, and then log into the editor and re-publish?
Hi,
thanks for the followup. My issues was resolved yesterday by Tawny from phone support -- I had failed to configure DNS for one thing...then we did an unpublish/publish and then my proper cert was deployed within a few hours.
FWIW: the DNS configuration was a little confusing for me when I did the site upgrade, as I had purchased my custom domain name previously through weebly, and thus didn't think that I needed to update the DNS as I was not coming from "another domain host". Through phone support I realized I had to find the "Domain" settings under my account name in the Square dashboard. Noting this here for anyone else who may run into the same issue,
Thank you so much for providing your feedback. I think this could be helpful information for future sellers, and something our team may need to take another look at.
Let us know if you have any other questions. 🙂
