can not add an item priced at Rp 1,000,000 or more

Why can’t I add an item priced at Rp 1,000,000 or more to my Square (or relevant) POS system?”

 

Context:

  • I’m trying to enter items valued at Rp 1,000,000 and above.

  • When I try, the item doesn’t save or show correctly.

  • Is there a maximum price limit per item? Or might it be a formatting error

A quick question, are you typically able to add other lower amounts using that particular currency? The reason I ask is because Square offers support to a range of countries/currencies, but I do not believe that the rupiah is supported currently.

Hi Sammie,

I'm based in Indonesia and although I understand that Square doesn’t officially support Rupiah for transactions, I’m not using it for payment processing. I’m only using it to display prices on the customer-facing screen and for internal data purposes. So far, I’ve been able to input amounts below IDR 1,000,000 without any issues. I’ve attached the list of the prices below for your reference.

Have you always had this issue, or is this a recent occurrence? I can definitely get this escalated for you, once I have that information.

We just purchased the unit and haven't used it yet. This is our first time setting it up, and the issue occurred right away.

I just chatted with our Account Services team and unfortunately it does look like there is a digit limit in place at this time. Unfortunately there is no workaround at this time either. I do apologize.
