best way to leave square

Square have removed the QR code functionality from our package and are asking for a premium to re-instate; despite over £1m of business over the past years. Anyone else considering leaving, we are being touted by SumUp - any good. This is blackmail.

@blakes While I can't argue that when things like this happen, they are bad business decisions, I think "blackmail" is not correct since I doubt Square has compromising or damaging information about you, personally.  Now, if they do and you think that this was the reason for their new tiered pricing system, then I'd definitely find an attorney to pursue this.

 

Otherwise, tech companies do this all the time.  They change tiers.  They change pricing.  They change features and move them around.  There is only one remedy if this is the hill you wish to die on -- switch to SumUp and stick with them until they anger you and you need to switch to someone else.  Thankfully, POS systems are a dime-a-dozen anymore.  It will be a while before you run through them all.
