Zebra ZD411 is causing other hardware to disconnect on Square Retail stand

I've had the most frustrating week - many many hours bouncing between Square and Zebra - both who refuse to take ownership of this issue.  Every time the Zebra is connected to the Square retail stand, it causes all the stand and other hardware to disconnect making it entirely unusable.  Square replaced the stand - but could not replace the printer because that was via 3rd party - and that did not solve the issue. There's absolutely no standing behind the products they sold for capability and no one will replace the printer without a 2+ week repair on the Zebra side (that's IF they deem it to be faulty). I'm SO disappointed with Square's crappy customer service and complete lack of troubleshooting ability and I wish I had gone with Shopify.

@localnoon  Welcome to the community.  I feel your frustration as I have had this happen to me about 1 year ago.   I upgraded my square stand from the lightning connector to USB-C.  I have my Square stands in a cash wrap and instead of swapping out the USB hub , I used the old one.  The exact same thing happened to me except it was my Epson printer, not the Zebra printer.  


When you returned the Square stand and go a new one did you replace the USB hub also? 

The hubs are a little finicky, for instance we also use a Square Terminal  and no other hub will work with it except the one made specifically for the terminal.  

Hopefully it is just the hub causing all your problems also.

Thanks for the response. I did get a new hub. I also went and bought a new printer and guess what... same issue!  BUT, i did eventually solve it:  When i was on the phone with Square customer service, they instructed me to delete the app and re-install the BLACK square app.  I asked some questions around the differences between the green and black one and they were hand-waivey and said they were basically the same features.  I pressed them on it a little but ultimately did what they said and used the black one.  On a whim after trying everything on earth to get this printer to work, i uninstalled the printer from my desktop dashboard and then deleted the app, and re-installed the GREEN app.  Guess what, it worked.  Seems there's some features not supported in the black and seems like the green is designed for retail. JFC.
