ZD411 Not configuring- 5 HOURS PLUS ON SQ CS

I have a new Zebra ZD411 printer.  I bought a new one from the internet, I was told by Square it would have to be returned and purchase through square.  I did that.  My new square source ZD411 is "not configure".  All software is up to date in my square stand/iPad.  

 

In over 5 hours of phone support with Square we have resulted in a "discovered" printer that is not configured.  So I can't print.  The problem appears to be in the Square software (both on kiosk and on the full account dashboard) but I've now been referred back to Zebra.  

 

Does anyone have a fix beyond: update all software, factory resets, pressing all reset buttons, plugging/unplugging, logging in and out of square dashboard and app etc.  PLEASE.  Thank you

Did you set up a Printer Profile for the Printer?

With Square and these Label printers and even Receipt printers they are no longer Plug and Play.  You need to setup printer profiles, since I am not sure what all you have done already I will give you two links about Setting up printers with Square. :

The other thing is are you using Square for Retail Plus?  You need the Plus version of Square for Retail to print Barcode Labels from this page when buying the printer through Square. Link to image below : zebra-zd411-barcode-label-printer

Keith, thank you again, you have answered questions for me before on this printer.  Actually I had done all you suggested and I have always run Plus, but the solution was much simpler.  I posted below.

WOW- I found it myself.  If anyone is having the same problem- use the preset list for functionality.  I was choosing only "receipt" and "sku" because that is all that we will be doing.  If I had the time, I'd call SQ CS back and tell them to look within their own system for the easy fix to configuring.

 

 

  • Use default settings: Automatically set up your printer with default settings to print all items, ticket types, and receipts. You are not able to edit the default settings. The default settings have the following print settings enabled:

    • Receipts: On

    • In-person order tickets: On

      • Single item per ticket: Off

      • Print kitchen names: On

      • Compact ticket: Off

      • Categories to print: All categories

    • Online & kiosk order tickets: On

      • Single item per ticket: Off

      • Print kitchen names: On

      • Automatically Print New Orders: On

      • Categories to print: All categories

    • Void tickets: On

  • Use a custom profile: Manually set up your printer with custom settings by using a printer profile. You can create a printer profile before or during the setup process.
