My logo looks horrible and unreadable when reduced to a square. They give us an option for a framed and Full logo. Why not let us use it? As a Full logo, my customers recognize it and know who I am. I spent a lot of time and energy (not to mention money ) working on my branding. While they call it branding, if my logo is unreadable, it is not branding for MY company but THEIRS!
Is there any way to convince Square that not every logo works in a frame? I have been working almost a week to make it look decent, but so far it is not something I would send to a client. It is horribly unprofessional. Can we purchase other invoice and receipt templates to email?
@JMorrisTravel I really like the suggestion of more/different receipt templates. I have had to do some editing to logos I have had made for my different brands. Usually it can be done as converting a logo and putting it on the square black or white background depending on your theme.
The exact size in pixels is:
- A PNG, GIF, or JPG file
- Square in dimension – between 280 x 280 pixels and 1000 x 1000 pixels
If you have a logo that has alot of detail or text, this can be a problem as getting a 1k x 1k under 10mb file will lose alot of detail. One of the issues with this is the limitations of the data sent to receipt printers versus the website or an invoice. On a website you can use the logo as the header to get it on there instead of a reduced logo in the corner. There are even some custom settings to make the header clickable to the home page or just use a home button.
I would start with making sure you have a logo file that is 1000 wide if you have a rectangular logo file that way you will have the minimal upsizing. On digital receipts once you put in the logo, it will give you the option to upload the full header logo and it should fit much better.
For printed receipts, I would actually have a designer condense the logo down to something very simple you could use just for the printed receipts. I understand branding is a very particular thing and agree with you, and I try to find a way to make it work with the theme and understand I may not get it perfect, but I have learned to move towards good is better than not at all. Just my opinion, but I think you can make it work.
