Why must I select "Shipping" for my non-shipped item to become Available?

If my item is picked up onsite why must a choose "shipping" to make it "Available" at checkout. If I don't select it, then it says "Not Available".

This is driving me nuts.

I have class passes to purchase but people couldn't buy them online as it said not available instead of checkout.

But there is no shipping on the item - why do I have to select this option - it makes no sense - there's no shipping & the customer will be confused. It's ridiculous.

I should be able to post an item without having to have shipping as an option. what's the solution here? Anyone know?

Cheers

Hey @ziggycs,

Thanks for getting in touch.

Can you confirm what item type your class pass is set to?

Some of these will require a method of fulfilment and others won't - you could try altering the item type.  For example, physical items will need a fulfilment method, while services won't.

@ziggycs If you were to change this so the item is classed as a Service, does this help fix the issue?
