Why is the new Square Point of Sale App available in Mac but not on Windows?

It seems unfair that Mac has that new square app but Windows doesn't. I have a feeling it's just a firmware update for all devices. I bet you could add a firmware update to the contactless one and it would work just fine. At least allow it to be directly connected. It's not like you're not giving out Android tablets anyway for square. Might as well.
