Why aren’t my outstanding invoices total not adding up to unpaid invoices in my account?

This can happen if your invoices have partial payments on them (either Invoices that have deposits or Invoices that have multiple payment milestones). 

Could this be your case?

Are the unpaid invoices considered past due? To me that would be outstanding, vs simply unpaid.
