Why can’t I connect to Instagram?

I have a book now button on Instagram but it keeps randomly breaking. I noticed it was broken and not loading my square appointments so I removed it and tried to re add it. The process works fine until the end where I’m shown the page “can’t connect to appointments for square”. I’ve been trying for a week now and nothing has changed. Terrible for my business as this is my main port for booking, so will have to go to an alternative booking company asap if this can’t be resolved 😩😩

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear you're having trouble with the Appointments integration for Instagram.

 

I've not heard of any widespread issues here at the moment, however I have pinged our Appointments team for advice about the issue you're seeing and will update this thread if I hear back with a solution.

 

This sounds understandably frustrating! It would also be worth reaching out to Instagram to check there are no issues on their end.

Hey again @Bethpurce94,

 

I spoke with our Appointments team and it looks like there is an ongoing issue with some Instagram accounts connecting with Appointments.

 

Our team are currently waiting for Facebook's engineering team to resolve on the Instagram end, though have advised that sometimes updating the Instagram app or uninstalling/re-installing will work. Unfortunately it's not a sure thing though.
