Why are promotional codes not available across platforms?

I run a business that is primarily by invoice so I use Square Invoicing.  We are adding a few items to our new Square Online store.  But, the majority of my sales remains through Invoicing.  We will never have a physical store.

Why am I unable to offer standardized promotional codes that are available across all forms of my sales; particularly one time use codes for let's say Birthdays, or when a customer has their one year anniversary with us?

We do not have a retail store and we do not wish to use Square Marketing because we have evaluated it, and it is inadequate for our needs. Not only that, but the requirements for manual elimination of duplicates that are created due to Square's non-synced email collection cross platform is not a viable solution.  If I have to manually manage my email collection then there is no point.  There are hundreds of services out there that do not require this.  Further, Square Marketing charges by customer, so if we are not on top of this duplicate issue daily, we will be overcharged for your service which is unacceptable.

What is being done to fix these multiple issues and when will promotional codes be available to provide to our customers as we choose?

Also, is there a current workaround for this problem.

Further, promotional codes are a function of selling and should be made available to any seller on your platform.  Limiting it to the use of a marketing system makes no sense.  There are thousands of businesses that need promotion codes and need to be able to deliver them in form and method that they choose.
