I frequently use saved tickets, and often when I hit charge, I choose an option to create and send an invoice. It worked for years, but now this option has suddenly disappeared. What's going on?

In this Support Article it states, “With the migration to Order Manager, you will no longer be able to pay for an open ticket with an invoice that was sent to a buyer for payment. Instead, you need to create & add items to the invoice and manually send it to the buyer.”
In short: Square has removed the direct “ticket to invoice” path and require you to perform invoices separately now.
You can still save a ticket/open ticket, but you cannot convert it into an invoice directly from the ticket like you used to. You’ll need to create a new invoice separately in the Invoices section for the full amount or re-add items manually.
