What are the charges when we use a gift card as the Card on File?

We are able to add gift cards as "Card on File" for a customer. My question is - will there be a charge of 3.5% + 15c on a gift card as well? We have already paid the transaction fee when the gift card was purchased, so wondering if there will be an additional charge if it is used as a "Card on File".

Hello @Pintuna thanks for your post. You are correct that the CC fees are taken when payment is received in exchange for the gift card; processing fees are only collected when gift cards are purchased, but no further fees are taken when they are redeemed. I do not think there is currently capability to store a Gift Card as a "card on file", only a credit card.

My apologies @Pintuna you are correct. I thought your question was can we save...I was checking older posts and since then it shows you can store a gift card. I learned something new today, thank you! I would still suspect that since the processing fee was taken from the payment method, there would not be a "double" fee. If I am incorrect, hopefully another Seller Community member or Admin with also comment on this post.
