Since restarting my phone last week, then updating my iPhone…my square will no longer tap to pay. I’m having to enter manually which is costing me.

I'm having the same issue.  Updated my iPhone to iOS 26.4 yesterday evening and now tap doesn't work anymore.  It chimes but doesn't register the sale.

Hmmm... This is the second post about it not working.  Can you provide more info?  What model phone, what version of the Square app, etc?

I am fully up to date on both iOS and Square, and tap to pay is working in my iPhone 16 Pro Max.  So seeing what you are running might help pinpoint the issue.

My phone is an iPhone 12 mini running iOS Version 26.4. Square version 7.0so.

What happens is when I go to tap to pay, it'll chime but instead of confirming the payment, it kicks me out to the "Tap to Pay on iPhone" screen.

The issue started after installing the 26.4 iPhone update.

I am having the same issue - admittedly I am using an iPhone 11 but do not expect that I would have to buy a new phone simply because of an update. Also, surely we should not have to be paying the price of this lack of compatability between the Square POS App and iOS update. THis should have been tested before it was released by Apple and Square users should have recieved a warning to turn off this update until a patch was developed?

I’m having the same issue 

I have a iPhone 15 pro max , with updated 26.4 iOS and square updated to 7.1 

My “Tap to pay” through square pos is not working either . 
it taps and blue confetti appear, but does not process cards and goes back to the keypad menu. I can still use my square tap hardware or manually put in credit card information and it will process. But it will not process tap to pay. 26.4 iOS and Square tap to pay has a really bad glitch. It’s been four days now that I cannot tap to pay to ring out clients.

Same issue in Aust with iOS26.4 and iPhone 15 Pro but added another Tap on Phone app to old iPhone 12 (26.4 also) and payments working ok on that app and iPhone. Square on my 15 Pro still looping luckily I’m with a Bank’s merchant app as well so was able to continue to run my business just not via Square - Apple need to add a correction ASAP as it’s seems like NFC is not recognising cards completely or viewing them as invalid - it’s a major issue
