The Connect endpoint is currently unavailable

Dear all,

After reconected my square extention to the app I got the usuall message "Successfully refreshed...", but I also got the following one, which I haven't previously seen, "There was an error when trying to sync locations and token: The Connect endpoint is currently unavailable.".

I then updated square 2.3.2 to 2.3.4 module/Opencert 2.1.0.2 with no problems, as usuall, however the above error message remains.

I'm reaching out, as I understood is an error that other users delt with, however I haven't located a fix.

Thank you

Solution

First of thank you Tra for your reply.

Square team was aware of the issue, which is related to the Square Apple Pay domain verification.

Here is the fix, as it came from Square team:

This issue is related to the Apple Pay Endpoint.

The endpoint https://YourDomain/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association does not include a Content-Type header. We suggest including one with a value such as: content-type: application/octet-stream
Please try that, and if it still doesn’t work, can you try cancelling the pending verification and retrying the whole process, directly from the Developer Dashboard?

- delete the verification file from its location (/folder root (public_html)/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association)
- click the ‘x’ next to the current pending verification in the dash to cancel it https://prnt.sc/dbctgKvv1-kC
- add a new sandbox domain using the developer dashboard
- re-download the verification file, and upload it to the correct location on their server https://prnt.sc/w0mCHBknhWKD
- re-attempt verification https://prnt.sc/bZLird3_m5Ie
We are seeing some issues with using Apple’s domain verification API recently that we are currently waiting on them to get back to us on.

I hope that also helps anyone else with the same issue.

Hey @Yioryos, welcome to the Seller Community! Sorry to hear you're running into an issue with the OpenCart integration.

For this particular error, it's worth making sure that your account is fully activated for taking card payments and that all locations are active. Here's a handy FAQ on how to activating your Square account

If you've confirmed that the account is active and that there is no inactive location, the next step would be to contact the OpenCart team directly for further assistance. Although Square integrates with OpenCart to process payments, all API functions are operated and managed by the OpenCart team. You can contact their team here

If for some reason they are not able to help you, please contact our Support team directly with your OpenCart ticket/case number, and we’ll see what we can do from our side.

I have the same issue, but how do I do this: The endpoint https://YourDomain/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association does not include a Content-Type header. We suggest including one with a value such as: content-type: application/octet-stream

Sorry to hear you are also running into this issue @tonyrobbo

Are you also trying to connect to OpenCart?

It's also worth doublw checking Tra's tips above:

'For this particular error, it's worth making sure that your account is fully activated for taking card payments and that all locations are active. Here's a handy FAQ on how to activating your Square account.'

I'll keep an eye out for your reply.
