Testing Transactions

How is it possible that Square doesn't offer some ability to test using credit cards? Every other merchant service provider I've encountered offers test CC numbers or something similar. In looking at previous threads, this has been asked in some form or fashion for at least 4 years! There have been numerous feature requests made. Why don't we have some ability to test — for training purposes, for testing hardware, etc?

For me when I first got a Square system I used one of my own Debit / Credit Cards to test how things worked before going live.  After testing the CC I also had to test how to do a Refund to my Test sales and make sure the money went back correctly.  Since the Transaction fee was charged when the test purchase was made, this fee was also returned when I did my Refund for the Test purchase.  I do this every so often when a employee is having troubles especially for Refunds.
