Hello, this week, I have begun having an issue with my square terminal. While connected to our wireless internet network, and while receiving signal, the terminal will not run transactions or load past transactions, siting “connection error”. 
as I said, I know it is connected to the internet and has signal, it is not a “not connected to network” error. 
The terminal is fully charged, less than two years old, and has always been handled with care. 
Restarting does not help. Factory reset did not help. Called a square help line and they said I could either try buying new hardware or try a new POS system. 
I would really prefer to just fix this issue. 
@OFTShop I would try a different wi-fi network or hot spot your phone to rule out an issue with your wireless router. I also would at minimum reset the router also. Some of this may seem mundane, but also make sure the software is updated on the terminal. I have had issues where the router software updates or the network provider can cause strange issues. If you have a dual band router try switching between 2g and 5g or etc.
If you go to best buy or sams club and pick up a new one and try it and it works then it probably is an issue with the hardware in the terminal. This stinks if it is, but the terminal really functions like a phone with reader/printer attached and sometimes there can be an issue with an internal antenna or something. Obviously, it is not the norm but none the less frustrating when it happens to you.
