Something happened on February 18 or 19th that allowed me to not be able to accept tap to pay on my Square on my iPhone 16 Pro Max. I logged out and back in. I deleted the app and reinstalled. I contacted support. They had me log out again and re-login and delete then they had me check for an app update which there was. After updating the app, I was still not able to use tap to pay. Support asked if my NFC feature was working on my phone, which I just tried it to pay and it does in fact work and allow me to tap to pay at other retail stores. I have been unable to take credit cards at my business for two weeks and it’s very frustrating. Thank you for your time.
@Barbermatt87 did you have an iOS update, or check for one?
In the Square app go to:
More → Settings → Hardware > Tap to Pay
If the option disappeared or shows disabled, the app may not have completed the activation step.
Good morning thank you for that. There was an iPhone update on my phone and also the app needed to be updated. I checked the setting’s that you just described and everything says ready, connected, green, and good to go. Very strange
