Tap to Pay NFC on Samsung Galaxy A15 is not working.

I held VISA debit card all over back of Samsung Galaxy A15 but no connection so Tap to Pay was useless.

NFC is enabled.

I can use the phone to pay using Google Pay by linking my VISA debit card to Google Wallet.

Does customer have to link their debit card or credit card to their Google Wallet to pay via NFC?

It looks like the Samsung Galaxy A15 isn’t compatible with Tap to Pay on Square. You can check device compatibility using this link: Square Compatibility.

It was working before

My VISA debit card is linked to Google Wallet but tap to pay will not work in Square app on Samsung Galaxy A15. Square app software needs an upgrade to handle my phone.

I don't get the point. The VISA debit card on the Samsung Galaxy A15 phone running Square app is mine so it must work with another person's phone not mine or I am paying myself which is a bit pointless and only for testing. Tap to Pay is in Square app not the Tap to Pay at Queensland Rail etc. This is for me to get paid as a music teacher not to pay for a ticket on a train.

You have to turn off developer mode

I disabled developer options and it still will not pay with VISA debit card via tap to pay on Samsung Galaxy A15. Something screwed up in Square app. Needs upgrade.

I disabled developer options then rebooted phone and now it works. Thank goodness as getting Bluetooth to pair is a pain. Good to have this extra option.
