Subscription Sync with POS?

We'd like to introduce a Membership program, with discount benefits starting immediately for those that sign up for an annual membership and after 3 payments for those that sign up for a monthly membership.
 
I'd like for customers to be able to subscribe online through our Square online site, but also have the option to sign up in our store (I envision it being like when you shop at Marshall's and they offer you 10% off when you sign up for a credit card.)
 
Issue 1:
Square Online can handle online subscription sign-ups, but there's no option for in-shop subscription sign-ups via Square Point of Sale. We need our shoppers to be able to sign up during checkout. Do you know how we could make this work?  We'll lose potential members if our only option is to send them a sign-up link via email. 
 
Issue 2: 
Once someone has a subscription, can you set parameters to their membership, and do their benefits automatically apply for the customers on POS? (Example: Frank signs up for a membership online, and when he comes to the shop, we pull him up as a customer on POS, and since he's a member, his 10% discount is applied automatically).

Hi @cbikes.  The short answer is that Square Subscriptions does not support all of the functionality you are looking for right now.  There have been request made, by me and others, to add these.  But as it is a rather new part of Square it is still being developed and won’t support things like ongoing discounts, in-person fulfillment and such.

 

In your case, rather than waiting for what I expect will be a not-so-short process, I’d recommend going to the Square App Marketplace and looking at a third-party membership/subscription add-on like Submatic.  I’m looking at that one which seems to offer all that I’d like in a Subscription feature.
