Stock not available online

We have implemented Square in our Retirement Village and currently utilize Square POS terminals at different physical locations within the village - viz Cafe and Bar.  We also sell "tickets" to events online via a Square hosted website.  We need to manage the number of "tickets" sold and do this by allocating stock to the event.  We do not need to manage stock at any of our physical locations.  The problem we have is that when we try and add stock to the particular event, we are presented with the message Not available online.  Stock is only available at the primary location.  I understand that the primary location is the "first" physical location we created in Square and this cannot be changed or deleted.  Our only work around is to allocate stock for the event to the primary location but this then means that our default reporting is not correct in that it shows sales against the primary location as opposed to the event.

I have exhausted all known options and variables within our Square implementation but have not been able to resolve our issue.

Any guidance will be very much appreciated.

Can you provide some more information about what your ideal reporting format would look like in this instance? For example, do you want your event sales to be associated with a specific location, of your available locations?

Additionally, are you creating an in-person or online event type?

Since Square Online sites can only be synced with a single primary location, I'll need to check with my team to find out what your options would be in this instance. In the meantime, I'll keep a lookout for your reply!

I am having the same issue. I have two locations. I’m be marked them both as physical. But only one, the inactive location, lets me make items available. The main location says Not available online.  Stock is only available at the primary location.  how do I correct this?

Hi Laurie.  Thanks for your response.  

 

Our primary issue is not reporting, as with the way things have been set up, we can work around that.  Having said that, with the way thing are currently set up, our event sales are associated with the location "Catering" as "Catering" was the first location created.

 

Our event sales are always sold online and not from any of our POS terminals and the events are always in person.  

 

By way of specifics, we recently sold an online event for an in-house fashion parade.  There was a cost to attend but there was no limit on the number of people able to attend.  This event reported against the location of "Catering".  We had a concurrent online event selling for our Melbourne Cup function for which numbers were limited.  We manage the numbers by allocating stock to the event but we were only able to do that by allocating stock to the "Catering" location.  As such, all reporting showed against the "Catering" location.  If we tried to allocate stock to a different location (say our "On line Events" location), we were presented with the message "Not available on line", "Stock is only available at the Primary location" which for us is "Catering".

 

The unfortunate reality is that when Square was set up and the first location defined, our people did not understand the implications., as "Catering" is neither a Physical nor On Line" location.
