'Stackable' discount rules?

I'm creating a set of discount rules; one of which would be a 10% standing discount for regular customers. Their 10% discount would apply to the cost of services, but not 'readymade' products or post charges.

I can see that there's a way to create a discount rule for a specific group of clients (great!) and there's also a way to apply a discount for certain products only (also great) but is there a way I can stack these rules so that the 10% would apply to a group of clients and certain items?

Thanks for writing in with this question!      

Right now, discounts can't be stacked, so unfortunately you'd have to choose one or the other. A workaround could be to include something like "services only" in the discount description and making sure that your staff is trained to only apply the discount to services. Stackable discounts would be considered a feature request which you can submit here.
