Square tools

We are a non profit and This is our organization's first gala and we've used square in the past but had to manually enter in CC info since the reader would not work on our cellphones.    What's the best tool we can use so check in/ check out will run smoothly?

As I see this is yocome your first post I would like to welcome you to the square sellers forum.

I have been using the Square stand since 2019 with only a few minor issues after updates.  These issues were mostly related to my scanner and not the ability to read a card.  You stated that your cell phones did not work with the reader, but not which reader was giving you the issue.  Most cell phones from my understanding have no problem with the Bluetooth reader ( contactless-chip-reader ).

Now the one that plugs in to a cell phone has been a problem the last few years because android based phones got rid of the headphone port which is required for the Magnetic reader (the free reader) (Free Reader ); as you see there are 2 types of this model one for Android and one for Iphones.  These are usually the ones that are not compatible with cellphones because of the Bluetooth head phones or people ordering the wrong one for their device.  

My suggestion would be to get a system from Square and not trying to just use cell phones.  1 system for the door where people enter and exit.  No matter which system you get you may need to add a scanner to it if you have items that can be scanned.

The Terminal is good for portabliity, The Square Stands are Ipad based, and the Square Registers are Android based from my understanding.  All three of these have readers built into them now.  Here is a link to the different POS Kits from square ( pos-kits ).  On that page you can also compare the different ones to see which one may suit your needs and budget the best.
