Square service fee charge discrepancy

Hoping someone will know the answer for this-

When using square POS terminal, I am charging the 1.6% service fee to the customer. However I have noticed consistently (but not every single time) that the actual fee paid is slightly more. For example a payment of $36 has a 1.6% fee of 58c; but I have been charged 59c. The amount the fee varies goes up with the amount charged also (higher sale, higher fee difference- always a roundup never down). Is Square charging say 1.63% instead of 1.60% and if not why is there this difference- I have noticed it both on my personal square account and my work one so I assume this is happening to every square user and can only imagine the additional amounts we are all paying - hope someone can clarify and explain!
