Square randomly started adding sales tax to my payment links

Square randomly started adding sales tax to my payment links as of yesterday. These are for fitness classes which are not subject to NYS sales tax and I have tried everything, including disabling sales tax all together. My prices on my website no longer reflect what is being shown to clients and so I can not sign up anyone new. Is this an issue happening on the back end? I have combed through every solution I could find, only to find out dated fixes or solutions I have tried multiple times. Again I have completely disabled sales tax and then even tried to create a new payment link, but it keeps adding in sales tax. 
Please help.

I am in the U.S and I did not find this " Settings- Taxes-Sales Taxes "Tax Enrollments" option you have mentioned. 

Waiting for other U.S users to further verify .

That is not a setting in the US version of Square.

So this "feature" started applying taxes on 3/27 to our donation link.  One of our members notified us about it a week ago (while I was on vacation).

The Tax Enrollment workaround did not resolve the tax issue for us; however, when I examined payment link we had been using to accept donations, I noticed is was defined with a Purpose of "Collect payment".  There is now a "Accept donation" purpose available when you create a payment link.  You cannot modify the Purpose of an existing link; you have to create a new one. Recreating the donation link using the Purpose of "Accept donation" and updating our website to use the new link, fixed the problem for us.

I'm having the same problem but inverse, I need it to apply to my payment links and nothing I've tried is working. And I just spent almost 2 hours to get a bs solution that won't work.

It looks like you can use the Take a Payment and make the payment amount a set dollar amount and tax is not applied. If you use the Sell an Item it automatically collects all taxes in the system based on location.  My problem is we have a state sales tax that applies to memberships and an occupation tax that does not. Square is applying both. They need to provide a way to toggle the taxes on and off like is found in the item menu.
