Square hub with EPSON TM-M30 printer

I’m having issues connecting the EPSON TM-M30 printer to a square hub. No matter what I do I can’t seem to get the square terminal to detect the printer. I have connected the terminal to the hub and connected the printer to USB port of the hub. Am I doing something wrong?
