Square crashing and printing tickets that are completely filled with black ink

Hello!

Our business has been experiencing a lot of issues with the Square app crashing. What I mean by this is that our cashiers will either start a transaction, be in the middle of the transaction or taking payment, and the Square app will completely close itself, taking the cashier to the iPad home screen. When the cashier goes to open the Square app again, there will be nothing of the order they had just been working on. Is this happening to anyone else?

 

The other issue is that there are times when an order goes to print out the ticket for our Cafe, and the ticket is completely blacked out. I’ve attached a photo of what I mean. Again, we are wondering if this is happening to anyone else?

Hello @SwampRabbitCafe !

 

I have seen only a few all black tickets over the last couple of weeks, so I think there is something relatively minor going on. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon!

 

As for the random app crashing issue you're seeing, make sure you're running the latest app version and operating system version on your tablet. Things are always being updated behind the scenes, and if you have an older version of the app or OS very weird things can happen--like system crashes.

 

If you have all the latest and greatest of everything installed and it's still happening let us know! There may be a couple other tricks we can try.

I am having the same problem. did they resolve this for you? was it just happening on your thermal printers?
