2nd gen contactless chip reader no longer charging. Square refuses to exchange it for a new one. It was 1 yr in May 2024. This is my my 3 or 4th chip reader. Stopped charging. Did all the resets. Everything is.up to date. My husband's contactless chip reader still works after a couple of yrs! My original one worked longest. After that, stop charging after several months. Square won't do anything about it. Square representative tells me I have to order a new one. I guess I'll just be exchanging them every 9-10 months then. That's the only way I can think of to resolve this problem that Square isn't doing anything about. From other posts I've read. This seems to be an ongoing problem. Square should be exchanging them.

Sorry to hear about your chip reader problems and that it quit charging. Square does only offer a 1 year limited warranty though on their chip reader.
Hopefully your next one will last similar to your husbands.
