Hi all!
Just before the recent software update, our square terminal was not printing. It would either restart or go to an error screen where you could exit out of the printing process.
Well, after the update, it is still not printing. It just reverts back to the library screen. I was hoping the nightly reboot would fix the problem but no luck so far.
My last resort will be to reboot the terminal and set it up again. Any other help would be appreciated.

Are you receiving any particular error when you try to print a receipt or is the terminal just not allowing the function?

On Wednesday after I started up our square terminal, I did a test print for receipts and it worked fine. A few minutes later, the printer mechanism made a couple noises and the thermal paper advanced a little bit. So I restarted the terminal. No more noises or moving paper after the restart.
After our first transaction, I tried to print a receipt and it failed. At first it performed a 'soft' restart to the library screen. When I tried to print out a receipt for the next transaction, it went to the printer error screen. See the included pic.
I was unable to print any receipts today.
As a side note, sometimes the charging icon appears when the terminal is powered down without the power adapter being connected. I've included a second pic showing the icon.
On other occasions, it will switch between the battery icon and the charging icon when powered down and no power adapter connected.Charging Icon with no power adapter

How long have you had your Square terminal?
Since April of 2021. This is our second unit. Replaced our first unit which we had for years.

Your Terminal is still in warranty if you'd like to return it, we're happy to get that swapped out for you.
