Hi, I’ve got a Square Terminal which I use for my market stall at local markets where I live.
I notice that they do a software update overnight around 3am every night where they reboot the terminal each night but for some reason the terminal always prints out some of the receipt paper as well and there’s nothing printed on it as it’s just blank but I’m just wondering why does it always print out every night during the overnight software updates around 3am every night?
I know that I can just open the printer door and roll it back up again when I’m about to go to a market but when I’m not having a market stall it just normally sits on a bench at home plugged into the wall and charging all the time but around 3am every night it does it’s usual updates where it turns off and reboots and then prints out a small amount of paper and then goes back to sleep mode again!
So I was just wondering why it does this every night and is there a way to stop it from printing out blank paper during the overnight software updates at 3am every night? Because it just seems like it’s wasting paper even though there’s nothing on it but I don’t think other machines do this? So is there a way you can stop it from printing out every night or should I just take the paper out completely and then try and remember to put it back in the morning of the market that I’ll be attending which can be a hassle sometimes when you are in a rush to pack everything into your car ready for the market and you sometimes forget things to bring to the market! So taking out the paper is pretty easy to do but my memory isn’t that great so I’d probably forget to add the paper back into it when I have a market stall so that’s why I don’t take the paper out just in case I forget to do it!
So is there a way to stop it from printing every night during the 3am overnight software updates? Because I tried looking for something on YouTube but couldn’t find anything on there so thought I’d ask on the Square website instead.
