Square Register using Square Restaurants app glitches

Hi,

 

There are a few bugs when using the restaurant app on the square register. For instance, I am not able to add a new item while someone is inputting an order on the register, because if the item is added on the POS screen while the register is in use, when the item is ordered, the register will shut down and reboot. 

 

Also, a few times a day, the register shuts down while our employees are inputting orders. This causes some confusions as they have to see if the first part of the order went through or if it didn't. Sometimes it does print out in the kitchen, sometimes it doesn't and there is just a blank ticket open. 

 

Is there a setting that is wrong on the register? And every few days I have to reset the register because it is not communicating to our other terminals. The register was not cheap to purchase, and I was very excited to get it since it was compatible with the restaurant app.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I always suggest that our sellers try these troubleshooting steps for the Square Register. They're listed because they usually resolve most bugs and glitches.

 

I realize that the Square Register and the Square for Restaurants subscription isn't cheap - therefore I want to make sure everything is running smoothly for you. I would suggest giving our Support Team a call if you continue to have issues. We have a Support Team dedicated to supporting and specializing in our Square for Register and Square Terminal. They'd be happy to walk you through additional troubleshooting and go over warranty policies as well. So sorry for this experience thus far. I'm hoping we can make it up to you.

I have factory reset the register, but we are testing it out to see how it works. It already seems faster since the reset. Thank you for the help!

I just found this today, Square Register with Square for Restaurants.  2 seperate register, 2 locations.

 

If you have pre-selected modifiers for an item and your cashier adds another modifier, but then clicks the "X" to remove a pre-selected modifier it will freeze the system to a black screen with the Square logo.  If you do not reboot or shutdown the system manually at this black screen it causes multiple issues when you get it back to sales mode.

 

I have only been using the Registers with SQ for Restaurants for 2 days, and have not seen any other cause for system freezes or errors.
