Square Messages Not Working

I wanted to send one of my customers a message now that I have a product available that he was interested in.  When I go to the Customer Profile screen for this customer the Messages block shows an error message "Oh no, something went wrong." (see screen shot below).  When I click Send Message, I get another error message at the top of the Messages block, "An error has occurred, please try again." (see screen shot below)  It does not matter which customer I try to message.  I have logged out and back in, closed and reopened my browser, and cleared out all of the cookies stored for squareup.com.  The system status board does not show any issues and the last post here in the community on a related issue was back in December and that thread shows that it was resolved.  Does anyone have anything on this problem?
