Square Loyalty random points

I have now had one customer gaining 2 lots of 32 points in addition to their purchase and a second customer where 20 additional points were charge when claiming a reward.

 

Is there a know bug and will a fix be in place for this?

I had an issue with a customer receiving two lots of points for a single transaction. When I chased up with Square support they advised it was due to having merged two customer accounts for the same customer which were both signed up to Loyalty on the same day. Could this be the case?

 

(Have to be honest I'm not 100% convinced this is the reason, but I have been checking the Loyalty activity log every few days to check for further discrepancies but not found any more as yet).

It's very odd. That wouldn't be the case for us. Neither customer profile merged with another and they have both been signed up over 6 weeks with points added and rewards redeemed.

Hey both @Twiddy and @ReefPassion, thanks for letting us know about this. That does sound glitchy. 

 

And just to confirm - is this happening on a particular platform (e.g. Square Online, Point of Sale app, etc) or is it happening on all Square verticals? 

 

If possible, please share any relevant screenshots of transactions and customer profiles (without showing any of your customer's personal information) here. I'll escalate this if needs be.
