Square App Transactions messing up in quickbooks online

Hello,

Our square pos is connected to our QuickBooks online. Starting in May we have had issues with not only our invoices transferring but also, we keep receiving this error below. When trying to accept the transactions in order to do our daily deposits.

This contains new square items. We recommend updating the product names before adding or matching. You can also turn off product tracking in Settings. Update

Not only are our deposits having to be adjusted manually due to app transactions sitting under for review and not moving because of that error. Our deposits are being double and sometimes tripled. So, it is repeating the deposit over and over.

Please help!! I cannot get anyone on the phone with square support, it ends up hanging up on me before I can get to a human.

Hi @CV24.  Sorry to hear this.  Unfortunately, this is not an issue that Square is going to be able to help you with.  Square creates the APIs that Intuit uses to import your data.  But, ultimately, it is QuickBooks/Intuit that is responsible for the use of those APIs.  Square does NOT send data to QuickBooks — QuickBooks requests data from Square using the APIs.  You didn’t say that you had been in contact with QuickBooks support, but that is the first place you should start.  It sounds like QuickBooks is having issues syncing with Square and only they can investigate and resolve those issues.

I use a similar app to do my daily revenue accounting journal entries.  Occasionally the entries it creates are incorrect or have problems, but in all cases the resolution has been in the hands of that third-party app (Bookkeep, in my case).

Sorry that I can’t help you any more than this.

I have spoken with quickbooks on the phone and they are stating this is a square issue.  I will try again. Thank you for explaining.

You’re welcome.  That is one reason why I loathe QuickBooks/Intuit.  They rarely take responsibility for anything, but the never hesitate to take our money! LOL.  I’ll do my accounting with paper and pencil before I ever use them again.  Good luck!

I understand. I have had a lot of issues with quickbooks and clearly still do. I also have had a lot of issues with square. It’s exhausting. I have thought about going back old school because it would honestly be less work and less headache it seems.

Thank you!
