It seems every time the software has an update, it kills my hardware and makes it unusable. Apparently there was a recent update and the card reader on both my Square Stand and POS don’t work. Anyone else have that problem?

This definitely doesn't sound right. The updates are meant to get out the kinks/bugs so it shouldn't be that doing it. I wonder if there's some other troubleshooting we could do to prevent this.
Is the iPad in the Stand being updated with the new Apple updates as they come as well?
Thanks for your message. We don’t have the stand with an iPad. We upgraded to the Squarr Register which has a built in display and a separate customer facing display. We reached customer service over the weekend, but they were not very helpful. They offered to replace the unit...for the fourth time. There has to be a better solution other than boxing it up and sending it back.

That is super frustrating. You shouldn't be having to replace it so often. I can't think of anything else you could be doing differently especially with the Register. Could you give our Customer Success team a call again and ask to speak with a Register Specialist? They might be able to give you more information than our regular Support team.
