Software does not match manual

I've had a Square account and card reader for some time; no problem there. But now, I am trying to set up the module for Prestashop. Module has installed and most of the process makes sense, but the software does not match the manual.

The problem arises in the webhook connection. The manual says to click on 'add endpoint' but the module (v. 1.3.0) only has 'add subscription' in v2. Assuming these are the same thing (perhaps they are not), it then wants a URL from the Prestashop settings screen. There isn't one other than that already used to get this far (the test worked it seems: that said the website was found).

What appears to be missing is anything to do with webhook from the module. There's supposed to be a field to fill in for webhook, but it isn't there.

Has anyone any suggestion how to proceed?

Hey @CJ-wpp, wishing you a warm welcome to the Square Seller Community!

I've gone ahead and escalated your question to our teams internally to take a look. Once I hear back from them, I will update you on this thread. Thanks for your patience!

Thanks for the help. This is still unresolved. Square told me to contact Prestashop, and they acknowledge that the manual didn't match the software but sent me a video on how to log in that showed all the things I had already done and I said I had done, and totally ignored the bit that said the software was incapable of being activated because it lacked a field to put the code into. So, still trying.

Hey @CJ-wpp, our team has confirmed that you are in contact with the right person. We have limited visibility on the PrestaShop integration on the Community, so it's best to keep in contact with the PrestaShop rep. However, I'd be happy to escalate your case if you feel the issue isn't getting resolved.

Thanks. That problem has been solved now, thanks for the help. Something seemed not to be saving correctly, even though I was doing things correctly, and thus it didn't properly complete.

It revealed another problem though. The payment 'box' with its grey/green/blue/whatever border shows up, but the text as you type is black on black in the theme, so useless to any customer. I think sorting out such things is relatively easy but beyond my abilities. The payment button is active at www.wildplaces.co.uk checkout, but actually useless (if this can be sorted out, I will be removing my other payment options). Trouble is, Square says to ask Prestashop, but they came back today and said that this is a Square thing as it's their module so I'm currently stuck.

Prestashop helped me to resolve that issue and the account is now fully active, thanks. It was something to do with some fields not correctly saving, so the registration was not completing even though I did everything correctly. But, it has left a different problem. The Square button is active at www.wildplaces.co.uk, but not usable.

The problem is that anything typed in the Square payment box is black text on a black background (and error messages are similarly black on black), so nobody can use the payment route. I gather this is relatively easy to solve with either an edit to the module or (better) a custom css or override. But that is well beyond my ability. Big difficulty is that the theme guy won't help, Prestashop says it is a Square module and they must help, but Square sent me to Prestashop. I think the problem has been bounced back to Square, but at present there is no resolution.

Thanks for your replies.
