Sitemap Images

I'm currently working on streamlining the SEO for my site. I have added categories for all my products, and assigned images to each a category so that it appears nicely in the google search results.

I would have expected these images to be listed in the automatically generated sitemap.xml file, but they are missing. Likewise for the products themselves.

Is this not a supported feature currently?

Thanks for bearing with me while I get some more information @Stumblor! From chatting with the team, sitemaps only document all the pages available on your website. It doesn't listed images. However, as long as the site is indexed and searchable, so will your images.

I hope this help clarify the question, but let me know if there's anything else I can do for you!

Hi @Stumblor, thank you for sharing this!

I'm not too sure about this myself so I've reached out to our ECOM specialist team to get a bit more information. I'll follow up on this thread when I have an update from the team!

Hey Tra, Where can I find the Sitemap to submit in Google Search Console Tools and help teach google how to crawl the site effectively?

Hey Matt, you can locate your sitemap by adding /sitemap.xml to the end of your website's URL (so it'll show https://yourwebsitename/sitemap.xml).

I hope this will help!
