Shipping Settings driving me mad!

I have one product on my site but a few options.  Sizes, package deals etc.

So the small and medium item ships at £5, the large at £15 and the package deal is free shipping.

I have tried and tried to differentiate by weight and value of order and the system completely ignores both.  It is literally driving me crazy as I think I am doing everything right.

Also, are the corrections on the fulfillment section instant?  They don't seem to be......

the above is a screenshot of the cart showing the value of the order and the second is a shot of the rates i have set which state that a £175 order should be £15 shipping.

Hey @Jemski, thank you for your post. I'm sorry to hear that this has been such a cause for frustration! I would be happy to take a look into this for you.

I noticed that the shipping profiles on your account look slightly different from mine. Have you set up your default shipping profile to be based on weight? In your shipping setting it should look like the screenshot below.

This can work well when you deliver within a limited area. This option will not take into account the distance to the destination or what couriers actually charge. To set up a delivery rate by order weight, you’ll need to make sure that you’ve specified a weight for each of your items. To start:

  1. From your Square Online Overview page, go to Items > Site Items.
  2. Select an item from your list.
  3. Under Fulfilment, make sure that Delivery is ticked so you can add a Delivery weight in the text box.
  4. Select Save when finished.

Note: If the weight of all items in an order is 0, the weight will automatically default to 0.1 lb/kg.

Can you let me know if that is what you have done? If it is and it is still appearing incorrectly on your site, I'll take another look.

Hi Skyler

I have tried exactly that!   I set all the item's weight in the Site Items settings, set the shipping to within those weights.  Delivery is ticked.  It's only within the UK so distance does not matter.  It didn't work.  So i changed it to value as you can see above as you can also see it still didn't work.

I will revert to weight as that would work best i think and let you know what happens!

Yours confused.

Thanks for getting back to me, @Jemski, and I appreciate the screenshots you have provided. Does seem strange alright. Can you provide a link to your website, please? I'll take another look on my end to see what the issue could be.

Perfect, thanks for that @Jemski. I may escalate this to our teams internally to see if this is expected behavior or if there is a workaround for this. I'll be back to you on this thread once I know more!

Hey @Jemski, I just got word back from our team.

So it looks like you've removed the settings to ship by weight and set up a flat rate, but the original issue seems to have stemmed from creating separate rates altogether.

If you'd like to charge by weight, you'll instead select Add rate > based on order rate and this should unlock a section that says 'Rate rules'. This will allow you to create rules but as a single rate. When a customer goes through checkout, they should only see the rule that applies to their order. See the screenshot below.

Let me know if you get the option above, happy to take another look if you continue to encounter this issue.
