I have put a 6% sales tax in to be applied to each sale of product. The sales tax doesn't stay applied when ringing up the sale.
What am I doing wrong?
Hi @clange1963!
Did you create the tax rate after or before adding items?
If you go to your dashboard, you can check which products the tax is applied to (Accounts & Settings > Business > Sales Taxes).
When you're creating a new item, you can just verify that the taxes are actually applied to the item in the "Tax" section of creating a new item.
As far as I know, the tax needs to be applied to each item in the sale for it to actually have a sales charge on it.
Let me know if that helps!

I had a problem with sales tax not adding in when I used the item feature on my android tablet. It would on the phone. I have art shows in various states, and it drove me crazy. I would click to add tax to all items, and it would go back to gray out. FINALLY I figured out that I needed to uncheck custom amounts to make variable amounts work. I sell the same thing at all shows, earrings, necklace, cuff etc, but they all have different prices. I wanted this to work so I could better track what was selling the most, even though I pretty much knew. Taxes would work on the keypad thankfully!
