SKUs and bundles?

I sell individual items and Square works out the discounts for bundles of three or five. The bundles are mix and match so could contain different combinations of individual items. My web designer wants SKUs for the small and large bundles. How do I make this work? How do I give those bundles SKUs in Square? And if they go through as a sale on the website how will Square know which items I've sold?

Not really sure why the developer would require this unless they are setting up multi-buy bundles as an item on the website, in which case just generate an arbitrary sku number. This may not be he best way forward as it will not manage your stock levels. I know auto discounts for bundles is currently in beta testing and will be available in the near future, this will be the best way forward once available. Can I suggest you take look at the POS discounts and how this works and envisage these discounts working on your website, which in the main will be case once the beta testing is completed.

Hope this helps.

I realised I read this reply but didn't thank you for taking the time to comment. I have POS discounts set up for sales on my app/dashboard for selling on my stall, but apparently this won't translate to the website.

Yes, multi buy mix and match bundles are what is being developed because it won't work to just have the customer click the right amount of items and the discount apply automatically like in the app. I suppose I just have to trust the web designer and get over myself. He knows I need the right data going through to Square and my inventory software (Craftybase). I made up SKUs based on the same logic I used to develop them for each individual item.

Thanks again!
