Can anyone chime in on how long folks have been requesting the ability to have customers choose to round up and or custom donations at checkout. I'm aware of the ability to create a button. I'm wondering how long is it going take and how many of us need to chime in to have Square create the option for customers to choose to opt in on donating or not. Our stores are owned and operated by a wonderful non-profit and this option would be super helpful. I have called and asked to escalate the option to come to fruition. From what I hear, it falls on deaf ears...
Rather than put customers on the spot, just have the POS ask the question at checkout and the customer can choose to opt in or not in making a donation. Sounds simple, but maybe not according to Square.

We want to ensure that our releases are not just surface-level products, but the best all-around resources to help you grow your business.
Right now the way to work around this is to set a variably priced item called “Donation” or “Round Up” and have the cashier manually calculate what cents is needed. Then you can run a report at the end of a week or month to get the total in donations.

Does anyone know if there is any sort of estimated time before this feature comes out. You would think with this being such a great cause and people trying to giveback to those less fortunate, Square would make this a top priority.....? We should be able to do this without having to figure out work arounds like adding items as donations, etc. Isn't there enough in fees collected to justify the development of this feature? If not, what other features and requests hold higher priority than giving back to those less fortunate.....
This is something that has been requested by hundreds of nonprofits for over 7 years. 7 YEARS!! It shouldn't be that hard for Square to implement this into the system!
Our nonprofit retail store has been requesting this feature since... 2016.
We have several businesses that all use Square for our POS. Once a year all of our businesses collaborate to sponsor a CharityFest music and community awareness event to raise money for local charities. We would very much like to have a "round-up" donation option in conjunction with the other fundraising efforts, but Square has not made this a priority. Shame on you, Square. This would be a great feature where Square could indirectly assist charities to raise money by helping other businesses use Square directly to help raise these funds. We are very much disappointed to learn that Square does not feel that this is a "priority" focus.
