Hey guys! Curious if there is anyway to ensure customers are saving a card on file. I have the option enabled on invoices but over half my customers choose to leave the box unchecked even with prompts asking them to please do so. Is there any way to make the invoice default or require the saving of a card? Or maybe like a payment link with a url redirect after completion as a way just to add their cards on file? It seems like I’m missing something that I can open their account and add a card for them but not allow them to do it themselves outside of a small box on an invoice.
Hey @Roastiva. This is sort of a good news/bad news reply. It is obviously possible for Square to require a card be saved on file for customers since that feature is available in Appointments. However, I just did some research and it definitely is not yet available for Invoices. So, all I can suggest is that you head over to the Ideate Board and submit a feature request to the Square Invoices team. Ask them to add a toggle to the invoice template setting “Save payment method” to optionally require customers to save a payment method.
Of course, this will only start an evaluation process that hopefully ends with adding this feature to the product roadmap. But, you have to start somewhere!
