 
		
		
		
		
		
	
			We’ve heard your requests and we’re excited to announce that Square Invoices now allows you to request partial payment for a portion of your invoice upfront as a deposit, and set a separate due date for the remaining balance. This allows you to create a single invoice to track payments and reduce the amount of time you have to spend reconciling two payments (a deposit and a follow-up payment) to a single body of work.
To request a deposit:

Please note the ability to take in-person payments (via a card chip, tap or manually keyed entry) towards an invoice deposit or partial balance is currently unavailable. In-person payments can currently only be taken for the total invoice amount.
To edit a deposit:
You are able to edit a Square Invoice at any time from your Square Dashboard, even after a partial payment has been made.
Once your customer receives the invoice, they’ll be able to pay the deposit first, and then the remaining balance at a later point in time.
