Register took payment, flashed approval, then went down. Payment was canceled when sys came back up

I rang up a sale and took credit card for payment without issue on Square register and card reader.  An approval code FLASHED across the reader, and then the system went down, displaying only the Square symbol on the terminal and card reader.  Customer had to leave, and the approval code had flashed, so they left the store.  When the system finally came back up, I received the notification that the payment had been canceled. I didn't realize it had happened before until speaking to another employee when I told them about it. When paired with the WiFi/Offline Issue from a couple of weeks ago that cost me inventory, I'm tired of giving merchandise away.  Help, Square!!!!!!!! 

 

(P.S. Tried to call Square Support, and the number just rings and then disconnects.)
