Did you create this coupon as part of a marketing campaign in the marketing section of your dashboard? If so, these would be coupons that would be used at checkout for your Square Online store only. These would not be redeemed in-store. You should still be able to use discounts on the Square for Restaurants app, though.
Once you’ve created a discount from your online Square Dashboard, you can apply it to a single item, or the entire bill.
From the bill editor:
- Tap the item to discount > Edit.
- Toggle on the desired discount > Save Changes. Note: Only fixed-percentage discounts can be applied to a single item at this time.
If you’d like to apply a discount to the entire bill, you’ll first need to add a discount function to your item grid. You can then select the discount from your menu and add it to the bill.
As an alternative, you could ask the customer to show you the email when purchasing an item in-store and then apply the discount at checkout in the app.
